ABOUT US

Inoperable Gallery was founded by Nicholas Platzer as a project and Studio Space in 2006 as an experimental platform for artists. Originally located in Lindengasse, Nicholas Platzer teamed up with art historian Nathalie Halgand and moved to Burggasse in 2008. In 2014 the gallery relocated to its present address directly overviewing the Viennese Naschmarkt.

Inoperable Gallery presents an ongoing program of exhibitions, projects and events and has specialized on the presentation of contemporary art emerging from urban subcultures. The   gallery´s focus is to promote great and innovative artists and to nurture the best talent from the new generation of artists around the world.

Over the past years, hundreds of artists have benefited from early exposure and support at Inoperable Gallery, including: Roa, Etam Cru, C215, Miss Van, C215, Christian Eisenberger, Aryz, Busk, Amose, Collin van der Sluijs.

Through their various activities Inoperable hopes to broaden the awareness and social consciousness in Vienna towards the presence of emerging artists.
